Result: Vijayta Won by 56 Runs

Hollywood 1 vs. Vijayta was considered to be the finale of the season 2011.  Vijayta came out the winners and played very well in all the departments.  Ravi Timbawala lead the Vijayta to the title and scored 70 to help Vijayta reach 254.  Hollywood fielding was not upto the task and dropped some catches that cost big at the end.  Piyush and Rishabh bowled well for Hollywood 1.

Hollywood batting did not clicked and innings from Arjun and Aditya was only batting highlights of the game.  Hollywood batting folded out on 198.  Good bowling from Japen Patel and Timil Patel lead Vijayta to the title. At the end, Hollywood did not capitalize on the moments to edge past to be called as a good team and being championship team.  That was the difference this year between Vijayta and Hollywood.  Vijayta capitalize well on the moments that define winning a title on seizing those moments.  

Hollywood Cricket Club had a spectacular season with 13-3 record.  Even with injuries and missing key players throughout the season, Hollywood was able to stay in Championship hunt and showed the determination of a true championship team.

Matches are not won unless a team has forged a high degree of unity,
which is attainable only through the selflessness of all its players.
That is why CRICKET is called a Team sport.

Thanks to Pegasus and its  batting last week which kept Vijayta's & Hollywood's Net Run Rate in Check and that helped out Vijayta immensely. The Championship game was on. The last 3 years the battle for supremacy was between Hollywood and Vijayta. The arguement this year might be that Hollywood was missing their experienced, but Mr. Cool ( Nikhil Iyer ) and Mr. Explosive MSD ( Mandeep Singh Dhillon ), but equally Vijayta was missing two of their own
Mr. Cool ( Mrunal Patel ) and Mr. Explosive ( Hammad Shahid ).
So the tables were equal on the swamp battlefield of Severn.
Nor water or broken pipes could stop this Juggernaut with sawdust spewing from waterholes.
This game had the Playoff atmosphere without the Playoffs so to speak. It was all wrapped in one.
So the winner take all game began

Timil Patel - 44 runs, 3 for 36 and 2 catches

Skipper Dave won the toss and chose to bat on a very good batting track and a swamp outfield with sawdust. Tarun and Ravi opened the innings. Eventhough Diwali was over, Tarun brought his own fireworks. Tarun lasted till the score was 43 until a a mixup on a misfield cost him his wicket. Japen and Ravi then put on 99 for the second wicket. Once Japen was out, Timil took the task and scored a very good 44, with a quick cameo by Dineth for his 26.
Aditya bowled a very tight spell and restricted the score to 254.
Ravi was carving his way for yet another hundred before he got stumped by Kadu
when he reached 70 on Aditya's dipper.

254 was a very easy and a chasable target for a formidable batting lineup of Hollywood. Their target was to score the runs in just 37 overs and then to take a lead in the Net Run Rate department. So it was two fold, win the game and win it convincingly. Neither of which happened as both the openers were sent packing.

In stepped the Thaygarajan brothers. Arjun was dropped before he even scratched his score and blasted his way to a well made 46. While Aditya paced himself to 31 runs.
Once Aditya was dislodged it was all business.

Skipper Dave juggled his bowlers between pace and spin that kept them unsettled.
Timil grabbed 3 wickets to take his league leading tally to 43 wickets with 1 more game to play and
Japen polished off the innings with 4/41.

 Tempers were flaring as Ankit and Rishabh pushed to a 50 run partnership.
Then came the catch of the match, Ankit hit one of his patent slog sweeps, to sky one to short midwicket where Farhan made no mistake and took a well judged catch with the evening sun in his eyes.

After which it was curtains and a victory dinner with some friends....................................
Congratulations Hollywood on a great year too.
