The final game of the season was a game which had no bearing on the positioning of teams, but still created a lot of spark on the field. Both teams had very good players and on a nice day, under warm California sun, this game came down to the wires. Citrus CC won the toss and elected to bat on a hard and bouncy wicket baked under the summer-like weather. Citrus batsmen struggled,  facing precise bowling attack from opening bowlers of Friends and lost wickets on regular intervals mostly playing unnecessary shots. Fahim Wasti, Saad Khan and Ali contributed to some extent to reach a total of 180 which is hard to defend against Citrus’s bowling attack
The 2nd innings was more lively as Salman bowled once again with speed, accuracy and intimidation. Friends lost their star players quickly to this assault from Salman, except Shahid Bhai who played him with relative ease; however, he lost his wicket to a paccy delivery from Saad. Among all Friends batsmen, he looked the most solid and determined. Citrus team was pretty confident to get them out quickly but they got the rude awakening when their number 4th and 5th batsmen surprised them with some huge boundaries while playing smartly and waiting for the bad delivery. Suddenly the game’s balance shifted towards Friends when veteran bowler Arif Khan, king of line and length was brought in and he quickly got rid of both batsmen. The game remained close until Salman and Saad came back with their 2nd spells and took some quick wickets. Shakeel bowled his eight overs with tight line and length and gave only 22 runs. At the end Friends fell only 7 runs short of winning the game. Citrus held all their catches, especially Yaser Khan and all time best wicket keeper Kartik who took some amazing catches. Good luck to Friends for their last game.
