Deccan wins with team effort

Deccan won the toss and elected to field on a hot sunny day. The opening bowlers kept probing the IE2 batters but were unfortunate to get a breakthrough. Vice captain, coming back after an exile, was on the mark to claim his first 5 wicket haul. He was well supported by our lanky medium pacer and a pacy newbie with 2 wickets each. A moment of fielding excellence caused a run-out which was greatly needed at the stage. The fielders supported our bowlers well taking good catches all around. This reduced IE2 to 126/10 in 32.4 overs. The opening batters were in rhythm and hit the ball well. Crisp drives were on display. However, our dedicated keeper went out because of a questionable decision by the umpire. The next two wickets fell cheaply and an unlikely hero emerged. He supported the captain well and played to his strength. The runs were flowing and Deccan were cruising along nicely. The captain fell after a 75+ runs partnership and ended up taking Deccan 7 runs from victory, scoring his first 50 of the season. The formality was completed by the lanky's favorite hit over mid-on and the hero is still standing..... Good game IE2. Thanks for the excellent food.
