Deccan rides on a century+ opening stand

Deccan won the toss and elected to field. The bowlers were upto the mark bowling a good line. Deccan was rewarded early but a couple of dropped catches let South Bay off the hook early. The second wicket partnership could have been costly but a quick change before the break provided another break-through. Deccan regrouped. Deccan stepped up to the plate and took some good catches and made South Bay pavilion busy. A late resistance from South Bay took the score past 150. It took an amazing catch in the outfield to break that partnership and the same bowler cleaned the tail by taking 3 wickets in the same over; "over-hattrick." Deccan openers looked in-charge from the top. They showed command over South Bay bowling attack. Both hit the bad balls to good effect and let the good ones go. It was boundaries-galore at Severn. They both supported each other well and brought up the first 100 partnership of the season. South Bay gave it up long time ago and ended up using 10 bowlers trying to get a break-through. In the meanwhile, the openers reached their maiden 50's with a hit over the mid-wicket. Talk about a partnership. South Bay finally got a wicket, but it was all too late and Deccan finished the formalities. Deccan won convincingly by 9 wickets. Good luck to South Bay for the future games.
